Beer notes from 6/8/13 for SixPoint's Bill's Brew for Bill's Bar & Burger-on tap at Bill's Bar & Burger in NYC: pours cloudy bright orange color with a foamy 1 finger off white head that didn't budge and left excellent lace coating the sides and rings as it went down.

Smells like a tangerine, with lemon zest, a lot of citrus notes, caramel, malt and a buttered biscuit sweetness; very fruity and floral, perfect smelling for an afternoon beer to wash down a burger (the Fat Cat, which was awesome).

Tastes of orange, pineapple, lemon, citrus hops, caramel, brown sugar, toasted grains, biscuit, grapefruit, tea leaf, herbs, floral hops and light spices including coriander and a hint of pepper. It was refreshing and slightly bitter at the same time and paired perfectly with the meal.

Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth, with a medium body, mild carbonation and a slightly bitter finish that's on the dry side. The aftertaste is sweet citrus and light grains and fades cleanly.

Overall a very tasty beer and definitely sessionable and one I recommend trying...unless they poured me the wrong beer, but whatever I had at Bill's was really damn good. What I drank was an APA and to me not a AAL, so my review is based on what I consumed that day.

Beer brewed specially for Bill's Bar & Burger in New York, brewed by Sixpoint. A basic American adjunct lager. Served in a pint glass.

a - Pours a somewhat clear bright yellow color with one inch of bright white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of grains, wheat, biscuit malts, and bready malts. Pretty bland, though nothing offensive. Pretty average.

t - Tastes of grains, bready malts, wheat, floral hops, biscuit malts, and dough. Again, not bad, but very little going on.

m - Light body and moderate carbonation. Very light and easy to drink beer.

o - Overall a pretty standard light beer/AAL; not much to the nose or taste at all. I was hoping for more given it was brewed by Sixpoint, and it's better than the normal BMC lager, but not worth getting, especially considering the fact that they actually have a great beer list in bottles. Would not seek out again.
