The appearance was a hazy brown body, no head (bartender pour - no worries), light white lacing. The smell was herbal - tea like qualities, caramel malts come out as the beer warms. The taste is sweet and herbal, herbal aftertaste and finish. The palate was about a light to medium, sessionable as far as Scottish Gruits can be, no carbonation was felt whatsoever. Overall, well, I liked it and would have it again.

On-tap at Rattle 'n Hum, New York, NY
A: The beer is slightly hazy amber in color. It poured with a half finger high off white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of herbs and juniper berries are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste has interesting flavors of juniper berries and herbs; the herbal flavors linger through the finish.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer might be an acquired taste but it is rather flavorful and easy to drink compared to other beers in the style. It is a good representation of a gruit beer.
