When it domes to atmosphere, there isn't much better you can find than a view of the columbia river. Seating on the back porch is great. Quality of the food is average for any McMenamins, and the house beers are the same. I don't think I got any of the rotating taps. Last time I was there I had their IPA and a rubenator (half ruby half terminator stout) Iin my opinion, the McMenamins house beers are a little archaic, they taste like they probably haben't changed since the infancy of craft beer. Food menu was to be expected for a pub/grill. There was the usual fare of gourmet burgers and sandwiches, but also some more classy options. Server was a cool guy, clearly knew when was appropriate to act professional and when he could joke around. His knowlege of beer was inpressive too. Consider this location if you'd like a nice view, decent beer and food at the restaurant level.

I'll start with the atmosphere because I think it is awesome. The location is great...right on the Columbia River. I go here often to get out on the deck and enjoy a beer. It is relaxing.

The bar and restaurant have that excellent warm McMenamin's feel. It feels dated but plenty clean and nostalgic.

The house beer is consistent and the rotating taps have been pretty awesome. I've seen Laurelwood Hop Monkey, Deschutes Hop Trip, Ninkasi Tricerahops, Lompoc C-Note, Hopworks IPA, and many other great local beers...this is rare in Vancouver.

The staff used to turnaround like crazy here but it has gotten better over the past couple years. The service is decent, providing it's not too busy and you get one of the seasoned staff.

The food is good and there is a nice variety...some vegetarian options and such.

This is a great place to unwind on a Friday night. The place is almost always packed and the staff do an above average job of taking care of folks. It's fun to watch planes take off and land at PDX and see the working river, well work. While the river setting is more urban river than Columbia Gorge Scenic Area, it's fine for what it is.

The bar staff is exceptional. The food is good and overall the pub deserves a better rating on this website. There is a large beer selection and the staff here work hard to please

You can't get a better location than they have right on the bank of the Columbia River. The view is outstanding. They have outdoor seating and there's a walkway that passes right out front. The proximity to the water and energy on a nice day reminds me of some of my favorite pubs on the Thames in London (like the Mayflower, Prospect of Whitby and Captain Kidd).

The beer selection is pretty good and the beer is good but not outstanding. The IPA is good. The food is good as well.

Atmosphere is the key here and the beer isn't bad. If you can catch a nice day or a night when the Christmas parade is going by, this place is well worth a visit. Atmosphere is the key here.

Always an experience when you go to a Mcmennamins. Typical ales brewed on site. Always taste a bit different from time to time and place to place. Inconsistency is key. The food is your average pub fair, french fries and burgers and stuff. Location is cool with a nice deck outside, but don't expect to get any service, I had to go to the bar whenever I wanted another beer. They had a few guest handles as well, but nothing good enough to mention. Overall this would be a last resort type of pub for me to venture in again. Popular but I'm not into it.
