A hazy copper color pour with a fizzy white two finger head , no lacicarbonation . Aroma of toasted malt , ginger ( as promised) sour apple and spice . Flavor is slightly tart at first ,but gets more malty as the beer warms , lots of ginger and some fruit like gummi bears or apple skins or something , and bits of spice . lively mouthfeel , light body , dry short finish. At first smell and sip I did not care for this beer but warmed to it slowly , not sure I've had anything like this , interesting , and might be better appreciated on a hot summer day , I would call it quite sessionable and a fun try .ng , high

I bought this as a single from Pauly's in Lowell, MI, and was pleased to find that Schmohz is bottling beers now for sale in retail stores. It is brewed using only water, malted barley, ginger root, and yeast.

Pours an extremely cloudy tan brown color, similar to cloudy apple cider with a dustier almost greyish hue. Fizzy at first, no foam retention.

The aroma is fantastic. Bananas, ginger, and sweet bread come through nicely. An overall highly sweet smell.

The taste is loaded with ginger. At mid sip the flavor reminds me of sweet and sour sauce or the pink slices of pickled ginger you put on sushi. The ginger makes this very unique, almost strangely so, but gives away to an empty clean finish.

The mouthfeel is thin but not watery. Very prickly carbonation. Not real smooth, but easy drinking and refreshing nonetheless.

Based on the flavor profile Im guessing this has to be an experimental brew. I probably dont like it enough to seek it out to buy more, but very interesting nonetheless.
