Light brown/dark amber clear body with big, medium, small and even microscopic
aromas of brown bread dominate
A unsettling rapeseed oil taste
could this be oily malt??? it warms to a slight bitter finish
very watery quite fizzy
Interesting, more to do with the history though than the drinking.
"Carlisle State Bitter was first brewed during the First World War when the State Brewery Scheme was brought into Annan and Carlisle district, nationalising the brewery and all the public houses to control the drinking of important munitions workers."
