Brewed at OG 1040 and ABV 4.0%. An amber coloured session bitter traditionally brewed using only the finest quality of Stonehenge Spring Water, barley, crystal and wheat malts, whole hops and the brewery’s own top-fermenting yeast. This session bitter is full-bodied and not so bitter, but rich in hop aroma which gives the beer a delightful aftertaste. The finish is slightly malty and fruity.

Cask. Clear middling amber. Thick creamy head. Rings of lacing.
Smells of toffee malt and green hops which are maintained in the taste. Light bitter flavour. Excellent balance.
Cask feel. Light carbonation. Dry yet refreshing.
Drunk in it's prime. Nice.

2nd Half pint at a beerfest in The George Inn, Eccleshall: gravity poured. Good hop feel to this, in both the smell and taste. Looked fine too, a full amber body with a topping of off-white foam for the head. Malts are around as well, this is an easy drinking, well balanced beer and well worth trying.

Had this beer recently at my local Wetherspoon's in East End London. A guest ale it is.
A: pours a clear, pale-amber colour with a thin and sponge-like beer head forming out of the lively, effervescent body when being poured; low carbonated body, just the way it should be.
S: very mild toffeeish with a touch of caramel maltiness, with some hops--sweetish flowery and mildly citrus and a bit of sweet peach... quite nice.
T: just like the nose, lightly sweet-caramel malty with a little toffeeish taste, backed by a refreshing, floral hoppyness at the back with a little chewy nuts' aftertaste attached to the tongue deep down... good lingering hops, but not too much of Goldings to which the brew is said to be solely attributed, and not particularly bitter, either, leaving a deliciously bitter-sweetness mixed well with the lingering malty flavour lying low in the overall aromatic throat. M: the mouthfeel is refreshing and lively initially, then turning smooth throughout the drink.
D: quaffable and tasty bitter, a good thirst-quencher!

Had a couple of pints of this in The Hinderton Arms pub, The Wirrall, UK Sept 2nd 2005.
Appearence was average for an English bitter, with the head being a bit thin. Tan body.
Smell was subdued with a taste that was a little bit watery for the style. A decent enough brew, but not one that you would stay with for an evenings drinking.
