Appearance This one produced a gorgeous, hazy orange color with a big, white, fluffy head. It rose up quickly and lasted for a while.
Smell This nose consisted of some beautiful orange peel and yeast. The spices were light and enticing.
Taste The nice yeast and unsweetened orange peel worked well together here. The Belgian spices were traditional and did a good job of bringing out the yeast and orange flavors.
Mouthfeel This light to medium-bodied bier has some great carbonation that gave it a wonderful, fluffy mouthfeel. I rarely find a fluffy mouthfeel like this on a Witbier brewed outside of Belgian, but the folks here at Anacortes just nailed the mouthfeel of this style.
Drinkability This is a balanced, easy-drinking, inviting Witbier that was a pleasure to drink.
Comments The brewer insisted that skyhand and I try this before leaving the pub, even though we had already paid the tab. It was brewed in conjunction with LaConner, Skagit River, and Far West Ireland and the proceeds are going to a fund created to support an Anacortes employee who recently had a stroke. This is a tasty dedication to a worthwhile cause.
