I enjoyed this brew in a pint glass from the tap at the brew pub. The beer description indicated that this brew has a ABV ranging from 7.2 to 9.9% and a IBU of 10-20 and that the customer should "ask server for a current description" because the ale "changes regularly at our brewers discretion." When I was there the staff indicated that the ABV was about 8%.
A: It poured a cloudy peach colored body with a nearly two finger white head. The head was dense and sticky, retained well and supported a layered lacing that followed the liquid down the glass.
S: There were distinct aromas of bananas, yeasty doughy white bread, creamy sweet malts, and hints of citrusy hops.
T: It was creamy and thick with yeasty flavors, sweet lightly toasted malts, tons of esters (bananas, pears, and peaches) and a healthy but not dominant touch of mandarin oranges and white spices. It seemed more a BSPA rather than a BPA but regardless of the classification it was a tasty brew.
M: It was full bodied with moderate carbonation, a sweet front, tangy back and clean warm finish. There was little noticeable aftertaste.
D: It was very tasty but it would be a hard drink to take long into the night due to its high ABV and heavy body. But it was smooth, tasty, and full of joyful ingredients that make BPAs fun to drink.
