Dark red-tinted brown with long lasting pale beige foam in the pint shaker. Sprity and malty mouthfeel. Rich and rather sweet, but there's a tangy edge. It does taste more like Belgian yeast with rock candy than anything that came out of a barrel.
Prefumey note, grainy, and not really much rye flavor. Long nose of leafy hops. Overall it's a robust, interesting, and quite drinkable brew in the maltier style. On tap at the Taproom at Anacortes Brewing next door.
