This was the cask version and it seemed to say amber ale on the sign though it is around 7% so it probably is the same beer. Dark Gold and very hoppy on the nose, this is a great full bodied hoppy ale (like a darker more malty imperial IPA). The finish was smooth and complex with a dryness that the cask seemed to bring. Great beer from this usually good brewpub.

Served in pint glass. Poured a bright, clear Orangeish-Amber color with a thin, white head that quickly dissipated. A very sharp, crisp aroma that is very hop-forward (as expected). Very crisp, fresh and sharp hop flavors that really stick to the tongue. Body is on the thin side as seems typical for beers like these. If you like very hoppy beers you will find this very drinkable, if you get bored quickly or have palate fatigue you'll tire quickly of this beer. An above average brew worth seeking out.
