A bit lighter and hoppier than is typical for the style. Still pretty tasty though.

Brewery says this is made with Sorachi Ace hops, nutmeg, and allspice.
Dark amber in the pint shaker with a haze. Moderate head and plenty of spritz on the tongue. A pleasant quaff and not overly spiced up.
A pleasant sweet maltiness greets the lips, followed by the spicy notes, and then the big bitter hoppiness. some tangy, sharp flavors with a fruity acidity. Hops are providing a robust bitterness but add that distinctive mango taste that goes nicely with the fruitcake spices.
This was the 2013 version. On tap at the brewpub. [from notes on release day, Nov. 22, 2013]

A nutty, woody ale with strong brown and chocolate malt character, balanced bittering, and some hop spice though no forward hop flavor. The color is dark auburn and the body shows low suds.
Noel is essentially a strong brown ale with a casual chocolate fragrance. Very nice.
