Served in a tumbler at Mundelein Brewfest 2014.

When I saw that the Ram had a smoked wheat ale pouring, I had to stick my nose in at their booth and try some. It pours a slightly hazy pale brass topped by a finger of white foam. The nose comprises dry cracked wheat, mild mesquite smoke, and a touch of cotton ball. The taste brings in more of the same, along with some mild lemon peel, which cuts the smoke fairly palpably. The body is a hefty light, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda drying finish. Overall, an alright beer at best, one whose two main factors (smoke and wheat) don't work together, nor do they end up melding much at all in the final product.
