Dark translucent pour, no lacing, and visibly thin body. Nose is chocolate and roast. Really clean ferment, no off flavors to be found, chocolate and a bit of hot alcohol from the treatment. The beer is so thin, though, it leaves you with an overwhelming feeling of 'meh'. I have a hard time believing this is actually in the gravity range to be considered a stout. Had it been called an 'imperial brown ale', I might have considered rating it higher.

Pitch black color with no lacing.. The nose is a subtle mix of roastyness and light bourbon. The taste is some hearty stout upfront with a finish of hot alcohol. The feel is somewhat thin and overpowered by the alcohol heat. Not bad for a first batch, but far below the coffee & maple variants.
