Both on draft and out of a growler into snifters.
Very dark appearance: black with the only foam appearing around edge of glass, and even that disappearing and eventually leaving just a pitch black viscous liquid.
Nose is of chocolate. You can smell it from across the bar or table, there is so much chocolate. Taste continues with chocolate but vanilla is also quite present. It's like a chocolate shake blended with vanilla wafers. The taste is big,... Almost as big as the sticky sweet mouthfeel. The flavors just continue to not only linger after each sip, but build even further.
This is yet another exceptional Side Note from Ram-Schaumbers head brewer (Shaun Berns). If there is one negative, it's that the sweetness can become over powering after a couple of glasses. If this beer was thrown into a barrel to allow the bourbon to cut through some of that sweetness and balance it out, it would be almost perfect.
