I enjoyed this one at the Winter Fest 06 at Hale's. I tasted this one in my 5oz sampler.
A: This poured a dark brown with no head, but the bead to cling to the edges.
S: The nose stood out with strong malts. There was a dominating aroma of dark roast, almost coffee notes.
T: At first sip the dark brown liquid has the same taste as its dominating nose, all dark roast malt, coffee-like malt. As the dark roasted malt flavor continues to pass the palate with continuous sips I note the ever so slight hop character to balance out the malts. Later the trailing notes of ETOH, or a bourbon bomb. Yes it is that obvious.
M: The mild-medium profile is quite relaxing and not chewy.
D: Luckily this is a winter warmer and not something all the time. This one would get me in trouble if it was available all the time. If you get the chance try it.
