(Served in a frozen tall mug)
A- This beer pours an opaque brown body with a thin light of warm brown at the base of the glass. A thin film of dark tan fades to a ring of foam pretty quickly. This beer is a bit to dense to see any carbonation.
S- The soft smell of coffee malt is followed by a dark bitter black malt aroma that is very smooth.
T- This beer has a big coffee malt flavor combined with a big chocolate malt flavor that is very smooth and lagered tasting. As the beer warms a bit of black roasted malt and graham cracker flavor comes through with a black nougat flavor that lingers after each sip.
M- This beer has a medium-full mouthfeel with a slight slippery texture to it.
D- This beer has some nice big dark coffee malt flavors but I wasn't sure they served me the right beer until after I had the java stout. There isn't much depth to this an not many qualities of a Baltic Porter either.
