Reviewed 1/25/10, on tap @ the Ram, downtown Boise. Served in a frosted Mug Club mug.
A: Hazy dark orange/red, with good lacing throughout.
S: Bitter, hops and grapefruit, sweetgrass.
T: Almost identical to nose. The grapefruit is pronounced.
MF: Hop sharpness on the tongue, medium bodied and drying.

big 20 oz glass for $3.50 during happy hour.... Sticky 1" head with great lace. Served waaay too cold. Hazy orange.
Piney hops with a little citrus and lite malty sweetness.
Bracing bitterness fruity and citric.. Sorta drying... Tastes "green" a little toasty maltiness as it warms.... Honestly seems a little out of balance for me, and I love hops.
Big body and smooth carbonation

The Tail Dragger IPA was offered on both nitro and regular CO2. I chose the nitro offering out of curiosity. It is a good-looking beer with that great cascade effect in the 20 oz pint. The beer is a hazy dark copper with a thick light tan head. Nice lacing.
It has a citrus nose with caramel malts.
The taste is nice, but not overly hoppy. Perhaps the nitro quashes the hops? There are grapefruit and pine notes backed with malts for some balance.
The mouth as expected, is incredibly creamy and soft but thins out in the end.
Not sure an IPA needs to be on nitro, but I guess it is ok to experiment, but in this case, it falls a little short.
