an objectively fine blonde ale, but really unexciting, even boring to me, and among the three lighter ones i have had here now, this, a kolsch, and a mexican lager, this one was by far the hardest one to be enthusiastic about, although its still pretty well done as they go, have yet to have a truly bad beer in here, this one just doesnt really have much going on. its not quite perfectly clear, has a very short lived white head, and smells like a simple pale barley and tasteless ale yeast combination, hardly any hops or yeast character to speak of. its nicely dry when i drink it, refreshing even, the faintest ester like it was done a few degrees too warm, but clean enough to finish. it has a very light body and fine carbonation, but warms up pretty poorly, almost starts to taste a little cheap, which is really no big deal, because this really is a pounder. its not bad, but right next to their delicious mexican lager, it has very little flavor and is all the same things in terms of refreshment, just less of them. maybe good for the craft initiate, but the well seasoned palate will be looking for a little more in a lighter ale than this one has to offer...

edit: i was significantly less impressed with this the second time around, cheaper still, metallic, a little flat, and very thin in feel. i will leave original scores in place, but this really might be their weakest every day offering over here, whether its a good batch or not. they had a berry edition on last weekend that was even worse still. not god awful, but totally forgettable, a lot of other better local options in this space...
