Draft at the Ram. Deep golden body with half finger creamy head. Aroma doesnt give much away, taste is full and grainy. Finishes clean, nice after a summer jaunt on the Greenbelt.

are you kidding me that we dont have a category for a mexican lager here on BA?! seems like a fairly obvious omission, so i listed the beer as a pale euro lager, but this is mexican lager yeast at its finest here, with a light lime note in a real refreshing light beer that drinks perfect on their riverside patio here in boise, this place is underrated for sure! easily my favorite and the most crushable of the lighter beers ive had in here, its crisp and tidy in fermentation, showcases the yeast just right, and has a light citrus hop note on the back end but stays appropriately delicate, exactly what i want in a mexican lager. golden in color, plenty refreshing, and just something easy for the summer. i feel like this is a style that just never gets enough credit, especially this time of year, its bright and its not boring, and this is a nice example of how this is different from domestic and european lagers, the yeast has some taste! i have been enjoying the beers from our local ram spot here, not sure why these guys dont get more love, the beer has been solid across the board!

edit: a little less impressive in a recent visit many years later, and the lime wedge was already in the liquid when it came to the table so i didnt really get the chance to independently revisit this, but it seemed sweeter and a bit less well refined, which was also true of their kolsch. still summery and refreshing, zesty obviously with the citrus in it now, not as light and breezy as i remember. leaving scores alone from original review but there seems to be some variability here.
