A: Darker dull orange in color. Slightly hazy. Forms a finger of dingy yellow tinted head. Good retention and some light lacing.
S: Pleasantly aromatic. Very floral with a little citrus and some light pale malt.
T: Bready caramel malt. Spicy hops. A little citrus. Some peppercorn with an increasing, almost astringent, bitterness on the finish.
M: Medium in body with appropriate carbonation. Prickly. Dry.
O: A surprisingly good beer from the folks at Ram. Aromatic, bitter, and hop-centric. Quite respectable. Never thought any brewer at Ram would be allowed to use this many hops in one brew, but it resulted in probably the best beer I've had from them yet.

Edit: Just learned from the brewer this was actually brewed in Wheeling, since Rosemont doesn't even brew on site...sampled at Rosemont Ram.
Surprise hit from Ram that made me question their corporate brewing tendencies. Reviewed from notes, emergency growler consumed in Wisconsin Dells, sadly I didn't bring two.
One finger of tan foam on this red-orange IPA, much darker than expected. Good retention and even a few rings of lacing.
Huge hop blast, super fruity with strawberry, melon, and cantaloupe, with a caramel note bringing up the rear.
Big on strawberry again in the taste, (rare for a DIPA) also honeydew melon with a nicely malty caramel-toffee richness in the middle. Medium bitterness, with an aftertaste of toffee and leafy green hops. Low carbonation and fairly drying. Very easy drinking, smooth finish that disappears without a trace. Overall a very nice and drinkable DIPA, with a strawberry element from left field that really works. Make this year round!
