solid and modern for these guys, lightly hazy, definitely unfiltered but maybe not quite new england level, frothy headed almost pale rusty orange colored, bubbly, looks fine in the glass and has a great hop nose on it, a cool mix of varietals at play hitting ripe cantaloupe and generic tropical fruit behind it, zested orange with grapefruit pith and bitterness, and the whole thing presents as fresh and summery, even though it has some structure and graininess to it as well, good balance on this, nice flow, and it warms up well without getting green or vegetal or harsh at all. hints of peach, tangerine, mango, and papaya in the flavor, and more of that as it warms a little, a subtle juiciness to this, but its no even close to sweet or too much, and there is some balancing late palate bitterness that is needed here, snaps it up a little bit and cuts through the grain in the center of this, wheaty to me, earthen, supportive, a hint of graham cracker. bitter citrus and some oiliness on the palate after the swallow, quickening carbonation keeps it pretty easy drinking, pleasant one for the patio this time of year. i have long said this boise location is underrated for a lot of reasons, but their beers were really solid this time once again...
