Appearance Filled to the rim on-tap at Bear Creek, this IPA poured a deep, almost shiny orange in color.
Smell The aroma was subtle here, consisting mostly of citrus hops and the tiniest of malt balance. I could also pick up some light floral notes. Everything was well proportioned but measured.
Taste The sharp citrus hops came out in force, and the complexity of this ale came alive at the taste. The traditional NW pine was present along with a stiff fruity dryness and a touch of anise.
This IPA was hardcore and very rough around the edges. I would have liked to store this for a bit to let things mature.
Mouthfeel This was one of the driest ales that Ive had. It sucked every last drop out of my cheeks. It was bigger than medium in the body but not full. The carbonation was just right.
Drinkability I would have like to have had more than just the one pint but skyhand sucked the keg dry before I got there. Im sending Is it ready yet? beermails to the brewer once a week until they get some more on-tap.
Comments Kudos to skyhand for getting a hold of me Friday PM to tell me about this freshly-tapped dry-hopped IPA. I cut work early and we managed to get in a few gulps before they 86ed the keg.
