It's ironic that the only other review of this brew is by Nero. We both purchased this brew at the same time in NJ during a trip to a Heavyweight Open House. He drank his immediately, I didn't. It got lost in the fridge. Well, I can report this beauty is alive and well. After over a year and half, the was little or no oxidation. I was surprised as hell.

It poured with a golden, clear body and a massive almost white head. It slowly dissipated but left an abundant collar of lacing all the way to the finish. A pleasant malty aroma was very noticable. The flavor was very tasty with a creamy sweet mouthfeel and a grainy malty overtone. The finish was dry and very refreshing. This is one quite quaffable brew. Helles is one of my favorite style lager.

"Das Leichte Helles". Pours a crystal clear golden body with a foamy white head that drops shortly but keeps a good collar and leaves exceptional lace throughout the glass. The bouquet expresses a bright combination of sweetly grainy malt and fresh grassy and floral hops. The body is light with a gently crisp carbonation that caresses the tongue. The flavor offers a softly sweet grainy maltiness that's gently balanced by moderate bitterness and a touch of floral hop flavor. It finishes short and dry. A lighter style lager that's surprisingly full of character and quite refreshing. It offers all of the characteristics of a fine Bohemian pilsner, but on a smaller scale. Very nice! This beer proves that a lighter, less filling beer really can taste great as well!
