The barrel aged version I tried tasted like the cross of a stout and a porter - nice

I had this on-tap in an imperial pint glass at the Lake City Way brewery.
Appearance: black with some dark brown highlights around the edges. Doesn't appear to have too much haze but it's hard to tell with the color. Head is a finger of creamy tan foam. Overall quite attractive!
Smell: lghtly roasty aroma with a little ashy character. Not too much complexity, but enticing enough.
Taste: very roasty with a fair bit of sweetness underneath. There's a bit of coffee character here, which adds a little something to the roastiness. A basic black porter, but nice enough.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a relatively low level of carbonation. Nice base texture but not particularly creamy.
Overall: roasty and drinkable, this is a decent porter.
