On draft, poured into a tulip glass. Pours a dark mahogany brown with a half finger khaki head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of fresh and dried plums, raisins, candi malt, light Belgian yeast. Flavor follows, with fresh and dried dark fruit, candi and light caramel malt, hints of cherry, clove and Belgian yeast. Medium to heavy bodied with light carbonation. A nice domestic take on a Belgian strong dark, and aptly named, due to deep dark fruit flavors that make this lean towards a quadruple in flavor. ABV well covered, but warming. Nothing really stands out in this strong ale, but it covered the flavor spectrum I'd hope for in a fruit forward Belgian dark ale. Although more of a dessert or evening ale, it went surprisingly well with my cod taco.
