On tap, poured into a shaker pint glass. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a thin khaki head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa and light coffee. Flavor follows with dark toasted malt, cocoa and a little coffee in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A standard middle weight stout without any bells or whistles. The body is light for an oatmeal stout with little of the oatmeal creaminess. Like many of the brews here, they are well done, but often unexciting, which is appropriate for their main purpose of having with a meal. This one was a fine companion for the salad and sandwich bite offered at a small reunion event here. I took home a mixed six of other beers to report in my leisure.

This is an oatmeal stout. Clear, very dark color. Definite heavily roasted grain aroma. Medium bodied. A slight bite of toasted grain on the taste.

Smells like an ice cream sundae ;) or maybe just that excited...but actually, has a strong mesquite taste?? Still good...if not mesquite, it's strongly smoked malts. Texture average.

I had this beer on-tap in a nonic at Elliott Bay Lake City.
Appearance: rich, deep dark brown with a thin layer of tan foam atop. Great color, but the head could be more impressive.
Smell: roasty with a dash of chocolate and a light, enticing sweetness. Nice.
Taste: roasty up front, which gives the illusion of dryness, then sweeter in the middle with a moderately bitter, astringent finish. Not complex, but nicely dynamic.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this beer isn't prefect, but it is well-balanced and easy to sit down and quaff while enjoying a book.

On tap at the brewery.
A: Dark chocolate brown with a tan one-finger head that eventually whittled down to size. Thick lacing.
S: Roasty, toasty; chocolate, coffee and vanilla.
T: Sweet, malty with roasted malts and chocolate over a vanilla background. Like another reviewer said, it has mocha qualities and that's OK by me.
M: Medium with medium, creamy carbonation.
O: No doubt, this is a terrific milk stout. Would go great with a brownie.
