Served in tulip. Poured a slightly hazy deep yellow/light gold color, with about an inch (less than I would have thought) of white head that dissipated far too quickly, but still left decent lacing.
The aroma is that pleasant yeasty/spicy combo that I love about beers of this type. The taste however, let me down a little. At first sip everything was right on target, but then I got an aftertaste I couldn't pin down. As I worked through the glass all the flavors seemed a little harsh and unpleasant. Just off somehow. Then there was the lingering hop finish that seems out of place.
The body was typical for the style and very pleasant. Drinkability was decent, but I don't think i would want more than 2 of these in a row.
Overall, a decent attempt at the style. Perhaps a few bugs to be worked out in the future, but this brewery should certainly try.
