Served in straight pint glass. Poured a clean, clear dark amber color with just under an inch of off-white head that had good retention and minimal lacing.
The aroma was a nice blend of sweet malt, peatiness and a nice whiff of hops. The flavor, at first, is that of a typical scotch ale. But after the blast in the mouth, there is an interesting tingle of hop across the middle and back of the tongue. The beer finishes with a blend of the flavors that linger without clinging.
The body was typical for the style, perhaps not quite as sticky as most. Drinkability was better than average, having a couple of these in a row would be very enjoyable.
Overall, a very nice take on the style, worth your time if you see it.
