Poured an oily black hue with the slightest foamy white head. There was decent retention and decent sticky lacing.

The smell featured a subtle burnt grain and some trace sweet malts.

The taste was well balanced, with a nice burnt grain and a sweet malt kept in check by some flowery hop.

The mouthfeel was average for the style with a dry finish.

Overall a very good and tasty oatmeal stout.

Had on tap at the brewpub, one of my favorites from their menu (along with the Legacy IPA). The beer was dark but not completely opaque, with a light tan foamy head. The aroma and flavor were great, lots of chocolate and a hint of coffee along with a roasted malt flavor. My only gripe is that it wasn't as silky smooth as I'd expect from an oatmeal stout. But otherwise it's nicely done.

Enjoyed on-tap at the brewpub. Presented in a pint glass. Menu noted it was on nitro, would probably not have noticed upon presentation, for what its worth.

Dense smallish dark tan head over the more or less opaque dark brown/black brew. Goodly amounts of lacing line the glass as the drinking experience transpires. Aroma was roasty dark grains. Taste starts with the roasty dark malt sweetness, and then fades into a pleasing lightly nutty close. Mouthfeel was smooth, soft over the tongue, and drinkability was very high. Yet another very enjoyable brew from Pittsfield Brew Works.
