Poured a medium amber hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured a light smokiness and a grainy malt.
The taste consisted of a moderate smoky malt and a suprisingly vibant hop.
The mouthfeel was average for the style.
Overall a subtle and tasty rauchbier. Very user friendly.

I had this on tap at the Pittsfield Brewpub, served in a pint glass. The appearance was dark copper color, very clear, with almost no head despite decent carbonation. The aroma was smoky and malty, and the flavor was near perfect to me, sweet malt and heavy-ish body with smoked meat flavor lingering after each sip. Incredibly good.
