This brew pays homage to our neighbors at the Woolen Mill. In 1923 a fire destroyed most of the Mill, but in the true Amana spirit, everyone came together to help and rebuild. 1923 Kolsch is light enough to drink in the warmer months and hearty enough for the cooler months.

Light amber body, semi-cloudy; fair carbonation; thick, frothy head, sticky. Light malt and moderately herbal / spicy nose; light, fruity esters. Light malt and estery flavors; delicate apple; moderate hop bitterness; sweet bread. Medium body; rounded and rich; moderately heavy sweetness with the residual sugar.

A nice, moderately rich and robust ale, full of flavor and texture.

Pouring temperature: 48 °F; canning info: unreadable

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a nice opaque yellow with a thin layer of white head. The nose is great. Grainy, biscuits, lemon, wheat, grass, earthy, slight caramel.

The taste is crisp and refreshing. Similar to the nose. Sweet caramel candy, wheat, a floral note, lemon (both the fruit and a hint of peel), a slight leather note, and maybe a hint of honey.

Mouthfeel is light and somewhat dry. Nice overall.
