Found this at trader Joe's in the half case for a good price so I thought what the hell lets take a flyer. Poured into a pilsener glass it forms little head to speak of and no lacing. Chill hazed, golden in color, slightly cloudy.

Smelled a fairly substantial hop presence for this style. Mostly malted taste but finishes clean and a bit too bitter. watery mouthfeel which enhances the bitterness as there isn't much to balance it out at the end. Not a bad beer. It just didn't hold my interest and I found myself drinking it just to be done so I can move on to the next offering.

Pours rather light in colour, somewhere between straw and gold. Bottle had no freshness date.

Smells rather acidic and yeasty.

Well carbonated (if you don't like fizzy beer I suggest you stay away from this one). There is a little fruitiness from the malt here, so it's more interesting than your average lager, but it doesn't have the strong kick of Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold. This is rather bland, but refreshing. One could knock a few back with ease.

(Served in an American pint glass)

A-This beer pours a hazy orange body with gentle carbonation and a thin off-white ring of foam around the rim.

S- Vary faint hint of sweet malt and a light hint of floral hops. pretty clean aroma overall.

T- Good resin hopiness with some orange flavors at the start with a nice pale malt balance. A hint of some fruitiness but its pretty faint.

M- medium mouthfeel with no alcohol warmth or astringency

D-Based on the bottle I had my doubts about the quality of this beer but I was pleasantly surprised. It has some nice gentle hoppiness with a good balance of malt. A nice session beer perhaps but nothing that wowed me.

Found a few bottles from this Seattle, WA-based brewery on the shelf at my local Trader Joe's, home to an eclectic array of craft brews. Presented in a 12oz bottle that bore no freshness date and poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: clear golden color, darker than a lot of blonde ales I've sampled. Minor carbonation failed to support a sputtering white head from collapsing to a thin, breaking skim.
Smell: pale malts, fruity aroma with an above average hops aroma, rather citrusy.
Taste: bolder, more varied flavor than most blonde ales. Pretty good balance between fruity sweetness, grainy malt, and citric hoppiness.
Feel: light-bodied, but not wispy-light like a lot of blonde ales. Clean and refreshing.
Drinkability: pretty good. This seems to me to smell and taste more like an APA than a blonde ale. A check of the Hale's Ales website turned up no info on this brew so I'm left to my own conclusions. Pretty robust and not the typical boring blonde ale.

This is the beer that really shows the brewing skills at Hale's as most Golden ales are bland and cookie cutter. This is fresh and tasty with real flavour. A great Summer beer that scares no one but still has something to offer the beer geek. I would buy a six pack of this to sip of the porch.

Saw this on the back of a shelf at Trader Joes, did not know Hales brewed this until i saw the typical Hale's bottle cap.
An averager beer to look at slightly hazy golden colour, small frothy white head.
The aroma is quite fresh and has a slight hoppiness, and some sugary aromas.
Actually not a bad tasting blonde, slightly more hoppy that the average..long finish , sweet malts.
Pretty good on the palate, nice long after taste.
Very nice drinking beer..good for hot evenings.
