Evidently this has made a comeback. Had a half pint in 'spoons in Paisley and I've seen it in at least one other pub lately. Dark straw to light gold colour with a malty caramel, brown sugar nose. The taste is less sweet than anticipated, but instead smoky, peaty and spicy. Somehow it hints at berries without quite dleivering. The spicy hops (with additional leafiness coming through the more I drink) dominate, rendering it a pleasant sipper.

This was sampled recently at the 3rd Ullapool Beer Festival. It is the nearest brewery to Ullapool and it was nice to see the local bars having their beers on cask.
The pint poured a golden colour with a nice white head.
The fragrances are plentiful with an initial bite of hops and a good deal of citrus fruits. These would have been more pleasant if they had controlled these a bit more, the pint's scent was VERY bitter.
The hoppiness continued through to the taste, with a bit more moderation, making the experience more pleasant. The aftertaste was a very pleasant combination of honey and oranges.
It had a nice mouthfeel, slightly above medium. At 4.2% this is a beer that can be taken all night. A very pleasant pint, thoroughly recommended should you ever come across it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
