Limited release brewed with bowmore peated malt and aged in selected bourbon casks. Enjoyed at room temperature in bowmore.
An amber honey gold colour, some initial white head which recedes leaving some light lacing,
Smell is very interesting, peat smoked barley malt, dry grains, oak, vanilla and honey, rich apple, yeast comes through, with bourbon spiciness.
Taste is mildly vanilla spice and subtle smokiness, dry sweet malt, a bit of cloying lemon yeast, finish dry malty smoke with some gentle vanilla and honey. Pretty nice complexity going in and out with a sweet malt body, very tasty.
Mouthfeel has quite a light carbonation, sweet feel to it, rather light with some light alcohol spice from the bourbon cask, interesting but not entirely sure the body holds up to the smoke and the cask. A great brew though that is rather reminiscent of the smoked barley malt and an interesting and novel beer.
