A superb year round beer. Well crafted and very well adjusted over the years to meet the most demanding IPA lover's taste. It is crisp, clear and very well hopped ... not too much but just enough.
I actually have nothing bad to say about this, it is simply a magnificient example of an IPA in style, taste and craftsmanship!!!

Good looking IPA with a very enjoyable aroma. There is a mix of mango puree, pine and citrus. Flavor is nicely balanced between bitter herbal hops and the acidity of citrus. Crisp and full mouthfeel with appropriate carbonation. Nice bitter, somewhat dry finish.

at Festival Bières et Saveurs 2009 with the brewer Patrick and Fred from Hopfenstark. Heard this was thought by many to be Quebec's best IPA and I was not disapointed. 78 IBU makes it like a 1.5 IPA. Lacey, medium grapefruit colour. Cascade among four US hops used. Served too cold. Still malt in thre, its not too bitter.

Full on amber and crystal clear with a generous head of white creamy foam. Great retention and generous lacing made this a pleasure to contemplate.
Aromas were not overly complex but were firm and clean. A crisp maltiness dominated up front with notes of apples and caramel. The middle was a transition between the fruity maltiness and a refreshing and judicious dose of piney hops.
Flavours were in-line with the aromas and were supported by a firm texture and medium body. The malt quickly gave way to a wave of crisp bitterness and resiney hops that faded, leaving me wanting more. Dangerously drinkable, especially after a long ride and before a long drive. When I come back, I won't be driving.

Appearance: Strawberry blonde, with a creamy, tight lacing that hung on tight.
Smell: Very herbal and piney, I wouldn't venture out to say Nugget or Chinook, and Pat the brewer didn't want to name the types he used, but he did say it was a mix of West coast favorites. I don't think it was cascade, not citrusy enough. It also had remnants of ripe red fruits...
Taste: Just malty enough, discreet carbonation, smooth as silk, respectable hop prick that clings on the tongue and doesn't let go. In a land not known for their IPAs, this one stands out.
