Pours to a dark brown with a thin off white head that leaves little lacing on the glass.
Mainly only the aroma of toffee malts is present.
Taste is heavey on the toffee or dark roasted malts.
Medium body with low carbonation.
Not a very good bock. Steer clear.

On-tap @ the brewpub.
Looks pretty decent, at least. Very dark brown with a respectable beige head. Aroma is toffee malt and really nothing more. Taste is toffee malt, malt..and a bit more malt. Pretty one-dimensional. Says on the menu this beer is characterized by "higher than average alcohol". I highly doubt that...I'd guess maybe 4.5-5%. I would really start to like these beers more if they didn't all taste like thick, buttery malt bombs. I'm putting a word in for them to brew an IPA. At least then, I should be able to taste some hops in a brew of theirs.

As per the website:
"A dark German lager, with strong malt flavor, and slightly higher than average alcohol, a Bavarian classic brewed with specially roasted dark malts and traditional Southern German hops. Higher alcohol and taste are due to the quantity of pure malt used in this beer."
Well, it's a nice pour. Dark brown with a ruby bottom and a very nice head.
Smells like butter and caramel. Not horrendous, but pretty bad.
JESUS THIS IS HORRIBLE! May be the foulest tasting beer I've ever had. It's like rotten dark chocolate mixed with year-old ground beef.
This is the worst beer from a bad brew pub. I would stop going there if the food wasn't so tasty.
