With a touch of sweetness from Belgian candy sugar, you’ll taste plum and a bit of spice in a very mellow, well balanced strong ale.

Pours hazy yellow with a fruity orange blush. Scant head of white bubbles that fell to a ring. Stream of effervescence. Nose is breaddy . Light dried herbal, sweet floral, soft light candi sugar, clove and spice. it's perfumey with honey. Taste is a good strong malty persence with sweet underpinnings. Citric fruitiness and spice with the clove sneaking out a bit too much which kept fullness from the flavors . It's soft in the middle and drinks sweetly with a little warmth from alcohol. I thought the alcohol was unmasked a bit too much in the finish. Bitterness was strong and there was a lingering dryness and bitterness in the aftertaste with some of that citrus fruitiness.

Sampling a cellar temp growler of this brew that was a gift from my brother after a recent visit. Im pouring into a snifter. The beer is a bright golden hue with a fizzy bleached white head of 2 cm foaming up that fades to nothing after just a minute or two. I gotta ding it a little for no head retention. There are several streams of bubbles rising to the surface throughout the sampling.
Aroma is light, yet complex, with some flowery honey notes and pears and a bit of spicy yeast and cloves. Maybe a hint of black pepper too, it is mild but very enjoyable and interesting to dig into with some sniffs.
First sip reveals a lighter body than expected and none of the syrupy stickiness that sometimes is present in a Tripel. Carbonation is very fine and slightly tingly on my tongue.
Flavor is fairly sweet but not cloying with some pear and honey similar to the nose. I also get a bit of spice, cloves as on the nose and just a hint of bubblegum, which I dont find very often in beers, but I keep coming back to it here. Buried for sure but that pink bubble gum flavor keeps coming up. I do get a little peppery booze on the finish, but there is no heat on this higher octane beer.
A very tasty and enjoyable tripel from a brewery Ive never been to, but would like to visit based on this beer.
Thanks Brian!
