The beer pours an amber color with a thick frothy offwhite head that fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a light malty scent that boasts of pale and light crystal malts along with a butternut aroma as well. It's bitter and hoppy. The taste is decent. It is quite hoppy and not at all balanced. The malts are weak and their flavor is watered down. It does retain a slight butternut flavor, but nothing too intense. It is one sided. The mouthfeel is lacking as well. It seems a bit watered down and could use a little more body. It is a medium bodied beer with good carbonation. This beer has real potential. I like the hops and the butternut qualities, but it needs a bit more body and malt balance. I hope these guys are around for a awhile.
