On tap at Mr. Goodbar, poured from the tap into a standard pint glass a hazy russet brown with a thinner off white head.Alot of spice in the nose mainly clove with a hint of nutmeg and bannana with chocolate being faint in there as well,I think the spice might be a little overdone flavor wise its a little medicinal the yeast flavor profile with its smoke and clove overpowers any subtle qualities. Its not horrible but to me it lacks any finess.

Filled a growler at Finger Lakes Beverage. I'm not a fan of wheat beers, but I figured I'd give this one a shot. I've never had a dunkel, so I will do my best in reviewing this one.

Poured into a Aventinus weizen glass.

Mad Monk pours a rich chesnut hue with a one finger white head that slowly dies down to a thin layer of froth. Some solid webbing when you roll the glass around. Smell is almost like a chocolate covered banana with a hint of alcohol. Fresh wheat and grass on the nose as well. Some sweet caramel malt makes its presence known as well. Banana bread flavors all the way with some nuttiness too. A subtle smokey wood taste midway through with a creamy chocolate malt that complements. Aftertaste is a bit bland, could use some help here. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Not a bad brew at all. Surprised to see a NY brewpub attempt this style. Hopefully someday I'll make it down to Watkins Glen and visit Roosterfish.
