The beer pours an amber color with a thick frothy offwhite head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a well balanced malt scent that boasts of pale, crystal, and rye. The rye adds some spiciness, but it not too noticable. The taste is good as well. It has a complex malt bill of pale, crystal, and rye malts along with a very nice hop component. The rye compliments the hops and adds some additional mouthfeel. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a tastey beer. The rye takes a back seat here, but it does add some complexity to an already good amber beer.
