Not sure if it is a seasonal or limited brew. Menu calls it a Bourban Barreled Aged Scotch Ale. Served in a snifter. I am assuming the alcohol content is > 8.5%.
A: It was dark in the room so difficult to tell. It appears to be dark brown with some copper tones on the sides. Provides a small off white foam head.
S: Lots of bourbon flavor is apparent but it was not overpowering. There are some caramel, roasted nuts and bready malt scents as well.
T: Quite complex as the bourbon hits the palate first and foremost. As I continue to drink, the malt character really comes out. Mostly caramel and toast flavors. The bourbon is most predominant. There is also a good amount of detectable alcohol.
M: Leaves somewhat of an 'alochol' taste on the palate. At first I thought it was just the bourbon, but it was alcohol.
D: I love bourbon, so this was a no brainer to try. I think it is put together really nicely. The bourbon flavor is nice, not too overpowering. Lots of alcohol is present which makes me only want to have one in a sitting.
