American Pale Ale. Poured from tap at the Brewery about an hour ago into a clean, clear glass.

A Medium brown translucent with some lacing. Overall kind of basic look.

S Not as hoppy as I would have thought from this style. Some hops but it is a balanced smell IMO with some light malt scents.

T Sure enough, more of a balanced Ale than what I expected from an APA. Later, after warming for a few minutes, taste became a bit stale, maybe even rotten. I do not think that this beer took too many chances.

M Thin to moderate.

D Great drinkability but not interesting enough to me to get a second pint. I thought that The ChopHouse's Saison carried much more interest, and drinkability, for me.

This one was served in a large glass mug. The beer is copper with a light tan head.

The aroma is of citrus and fresh cut hay.

The taste is slightly bitter with citrus and pine notes. There are some plums in the background. The beer becomes bitterer as you work through it. This helps move the needle on the taste score.

The mouth is bracing and slightly puckering. Well done and not a bad example of this style.

This was my favorite of the beers I sampled here.

(Served in an American pint glass)

A- This beer has a deep copper crystal clear body with a very light carbonation of tiny bubbles. There is a creamy light tan head on top that last for a good long time.

S- The soft pale malt aroma has hints of toast and is followed by a fresh citrus hops finish.

T- The slightly toasted malt and pale malt come together nicely. The finish is a soft citrus hops with hints of orange zest but the hops are much lighter than the malt.

M- This beer has a medium light mouthfeel and there is a slight alcohol warmth in the last few sips.

D- This beer has a soft hop flavor with a nice malt depth. I don't think it has much alcohol but it was surprising to taste a slight fusel hint when the beer was really warm.

(part of a 6oz sampler)

Poured a warm orange-gold amber with a tight head of white foam that didn't lace at all. Nose is nice - hops, citrus (specifically orange) maybe a wisp of some malt.

Its nice. The citrus/orange nose carries over well on the tongue, swirling with its malted base. The hops are balanced well versus them, then they dance together on my pallete. The others fade while the hops slowly echo out on the throat.

This was a very enjoyable ale - not too hopped. It would be incredible with Thai food I imagine, or even by itself.

Very hoppy aroma. Thick head and lacing with a tart hops flavor. and a perfectly bitter finish. Nicely done! This is definitely my favorite Cleveland Chophouse offering and first on my list the next time I visit.
