(Served in an American pint glass)
A- This beer has a jet black body with a dark tan head that lasts as a thin film for a good while. There is no sign of carbonation in this body.
S- The smell of dark brown roasted malt is well blended like it is a bit stale with a hint of chocolate in there. No black roasted smells or deep grain complexity.
T- This beer has a big cold coffee flavor with a faint brown malt note and a hint of wet wood in the finish. The flavor is pretty light over all.
M- This beer has a medium-light mouthfeel with a very light fusel hint in the last few sips and a pretty clean finish.
D- This beer doesn't have the big black roasted flavor I consider requirements for a stout and the malt flavors that are there just are very good or interesting.

This might be the perfect starter stout, but to me it was a tale of two beers - what it told me before I tasted, and what it said afterward.
Poured a thick, ruddy baking chocolate brown, opaque. The tan head was very tight and clung rediculously to the glass, although it filmed over quickly. Nose is fantastic - infused with coffee currants. So far this looks & smells like a great beer.
Its advertised as very smooth, and they aren't kidding. It is smooth, tasting much lighter than my eyes & nose were telling me. A very enjoyable coffee tastes swirls on the tongue...hmmm...
...then it breaks my heart, and completely fades away into a watery, thin, no hops finish..not even an aftertaste. Where did this beer, which looked, smelled and even tasted great, go? Talk about premature ebeerulation....geesh.
This was like the first hill of a Cedar Point roller coster. All the build-up, then it just comes crashing downhill one way into nothing. What a disappointment. If they wanted smooth, they got it by neutering this beer on the tongue and letting it fade into a bad memory. Too bad.

This Stout was smooth and creamy but had a very thin and metallic mouthfeel. Thick beige had and nice lacing but this one was lacking somehow. It just needs to be a little more rounded.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
