I picked up this growler at Fort Street yesterday. The chalk board listed it as Piston Wheat IPA.
The beer poured deep golden and slightly hazy, topped by a dense, off-white head. Excellent lacing remained on the glass. Aroma had notes of grapefruit and pine. It was pleasant on the nose, and not overly powerful. Flavor had elements of oranges, grapefruit, and banana with a solid, bitter finish. Body was in the middle range with medium-high carbonation and a dry finish.
Fort Street delivered a very nice drinkable beer. If I were to change anything about the Piston IPA, I would boost the aroma hops. Kudos, Fort Street.

I sampled this at the Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Fest.
A: Clear copper-amber; off-white head; very little retention or lace. I'm surprised this is 40% wheat... must be filtered.
S: Grapefruit citrus with a little bread & caramel.
T: Bread & caramel up front, plenty of grapefruit citrus in the finish. Nice (quality) pale malt flavour (biscuit & bread). Alcohol is REALLY well hidden. Balanced bitterness that isn't the least bit harsh. Apparantly it's all Amarillo hops.
M: Moderate body & carbonation; slight acidity.
D: Quite good.
From their website:
Piston Pale Ale... 7.75%... 85 IBU
Our annual summer classic returns! An India Pale Ale style with about 40% malted wheat. Amarillo hops, which have a distinct citrus character were used exclusively. Those two ingrediants give this beer a wonderfully thist quenching character. This is a summer beer for hop heads.

What a great find here at the Pizza Plant in williamsville,NY.Poured a hazed burnt orange with a tigh but smallish white head, love the aromas big fruity estures mainly apricot and orange with a nice piney hop underneath. Not a hop bomb but great hoppy tones somewhat citric but mainly malt-like fruit tones very juicy with a nice piney/herbal finish. The alc% is very well hidden and the flavors a packed with fruitiness,a great new beer to try.A very nice find from the home state tonight.

A very drinkable American IPA. Pours from the growler to a medium orange color with a short lived white head. Lots of lace, and a medium to medium low level of carbonation. Aromas of pine and citrus dominate, but hints of malt and hops blend in for a vote as well. Taste is medium full bodied and very enjoyable; hops, citrus, pine, sweet malt, and mild grains blend in utter harmony on the tongue. The 7.5% ABV is totally concealed among the full flavors. Mouthfeel is slightly oily, and the carbonation plays only a minimal role of the experience. Could've been more slippery / oily, but it's still above average. Drinkability is good; I will have no issues finishing this growler, and that's with the high ABV to boot! Recommended drinking. FSB has another winner here.

This ale is cloudy with a golden/orange color and a nice creamy white head. There is a sweet malt aroma dominated by a lot of citrus-like hops (Amarillo, according to the menu). Wow! Big citrus/grapefruit hops flavor balanced well by a good sweet malt background. This beer definitely has some intangible qualities that make this more than your usual IPA... the flavors seem to dance across your tongue. This one's a definite keeper!
