This one was a dark brown colour with chestnut highlights and a fine, dark beige cap. Good head retention with some spotty, streaky lacing. Mild aroma, all malt, some caramel and toffee. Low bitterness with a bit of herbal/floral hop flavour. Lots of nutty and caramel flavour, some toffee towards the end along with some sugary sweetness and hint of alcohol. Bitterness hit hard in the finish capping each sip with a bit of a punch. Just more than medium bodied with carbonation on the low side. Quite smooth and malty. Pretty good overall and a nice drinking lighter scotch ale.
