Enjoyed on 03.30.09 - A relatively nice Monday (for Michigan).
Simple put - one of the better Reds, I've had (and I'm not a fan of Reds, in general). On-tap, poured into a standard American pint glass.
A: Color is a dark mahogany. Pours a tan head that leaves a little lacing.
S: Aroma is malty with awesome caramel. A bit of nut is also present. Hops were minimal (IBU = 22 at tasting).
T: Quite malty. A bread & some earthy hops. The caramel comes hits as well...
M: Mouthfeel is fantastic for a Red. Leaves a slight sticky aftertaste.
D: A session beer if there ever was one. If not for all the fantastic beers on the row from FSB, I would have sipped this one all night long.
Get the sampler at Fort Street if its your first time - otherwise, right this wave (other super options - as of 03.30.09: Stimulus Imperial Saison & Beernormous Imperial Stout).
