I got this on-tap at the Brewery. It came to me in a standard American pint 12oz. pint glass. At first when I saw the name it had to be a Dopplebock. It had the suffix -ator at the end and the style Bock at the end. But in the descripiton they called it a RauchBock. They said it was made with 60% smoked malts, so that where I got the idea that this was more a Rauchbier than a Dopplebock.
Appearnace: It was this dark ruby/copper color with a 1 finger head of white foam. The head of foam dissipated nice and slow leaving behind plenty of white lace in its tracks.
Smell: I kept trying to get a strong aroma out of it, but I couldn't. It had this slight, but still good aroma of smoked malts, and some chocolate at the end. I thought since they called it a Rauchbock it would have a smoked meats aroma, but I couldn't get any trace of that.
Taste: It had a excellent taste of plenty of smoked malts, some chocolate, very little coffee, and this all ended with a semi-sweet aftertaste. Very good!
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a smoked malt taste in the back of your mouth. Even though it had a high ABV, I still couldn't feel it until I finished the second one.
Drinkability: So good that I had to have a second one. I tried to get a growler of this, but they were out of growlers. Too bad! Hopefully when I go back, they'll have more of this.
