Cask version at Barleys 4th Annual Mini RAF (05/13/06): Kind of cool to have 2 brewpub Rye beers to compare and contrast. Pours amber/brown with a medium off-white head and thin sheets of lacing. Aroma of rye and citrus. Medium-bodied with a nice blend of malt and rye flavors, along with some citrusy hops behind it all. The rye flavor is not as robust in the finish, however it is still a pretty good session beer from start to finish.

Aroma: Hop resins, floral hop notes, light citrus woft out of the glass.
Appearance: Cloudy burnt orange throughout. No visible carbonation noted. A thin wispy white cap develops but does not persist.
Flavor: Bitter hops with a nice tart yeasty base. Perfumed hops come out and the rye does a nice job of accentuating the bitterness. The hops and rye blend nicely and compliment each other fantastically.
Mouthfeel: A little oily, medium bodied with a long bitter finish. This one sticks to the ribs.
Overall impression: I just love the combination of hops and rye. This beer showcases that in fine fashion. A great example and I'm glad I tried it. Strongly recommended.
