August 2005: Bottle, RBESG 2005 Grand Tasting. Amber colour. Aroma is smoke and oak with some brown sugar and white pepper notes. Flavour is moderately smokey with faint notes of tar, fairly dry. Okay.

The colour is amber and the liquid is quite cloudy. The compact foam is white.
The sour smell got tones of cascade hops and a somewhat sourish flavour.
The carbonation is hard, almost sticky.
The first taste is a chemical bitterness that develops into a buttery and quite simple taste with a hint of grapefruit. The aftertaste is rather short and dry.
When reading this review, I found the words much more negative than I remember from the tasting occasion. So Ill add this conclusion at the end: An attractive and unusual ale.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
