11.2oz bottle into a small tasting glass at the Närke brewery with owner-head brewer, Hans.
This is a special Kaggen. They took the 08 version and put on pure Swedish Oak barrels that never contained any alcohol for three months. The barrels were made by a top cooper in the area. It was then released only at the First Borefts Beer festival at De Molen. The brewer let most beers go at the festival but kept a few for himself. As a side not he has two more barrels aging for a special 5 year anniversary beer, another super small batch. I was told a year ago this was too harsh and woody as the oak showed off way to much. When I tasted it, thought it was really good. The oak really presents itself on the aroma, but its really smooth and yummy. The taste is really smooth, the oak is present but doesn't dominate, this is a great beer. Not as great or complex as the whiskey version as it lacks any of the sweet vanilla, but this is still awesome.
If you're lucky enough to be one of the handful of people who sees this beer, you should try it.
